We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join Dataclair, the AI center of excellence at O2 Czech Republic. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise to drive the development and enhancement of our AI platform, ensure architectural excellence across our projects, and foster collaboration among engineering teams.

Experience Level: Senior level position

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role and strong expertise in Python-based AI/ML platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI Platform Leadership: Oversee and develop our AI platform, which consists of Azure cloud resources, OS components, and proprietary solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Architecture Design: Propose architecture for new (Big)Data and AI applications and support our project teams in implementing them, with a focus on maintainable, efficient solutions
  • Technical Community Leadership: Lead the Technology Guild, a cross-team forum of software engineers focused on best-practice sharing, setting code/development standards, and collaboration across different projects
  • Data Governance: Manage governance of our Data Lake while supporting O2's DWH team with other data sources and building data lineage from primary systems to business applications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python, its AI/ML ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) and BigData tooling (PySpark, Kafka)
  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, particularly those related to data and AI
  • A proven track record as a technical leader in designing architectures for large-scale data processing systems
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience with data governance frameworks (such as OpenMetaData and Datahub) and implementing data lineage solutions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure or AWS
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes tooling
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with MLOps and productionizing ML models
  • Familiarity with telecommunications industry data challenges
