About the Role:

As a Market Risk/ALM Specialist joining our Market and Structural Risk department you will be involved in analyzing, monitoring and supervision of all market risks associated with core banking activities of Komercni banka and its entities. These risks include mainly liquidity risk, interest rate risk and the risk of FX rates changes.

In this role you will contribute to creating a sound environment for managing market risks incl. risk drivers identification, methodology development and its implementation (both, internal and regulatory based), data processing and their seamless transformation into risk metrics, monitoring and analysing of those risk metrics, framing of risk limits and monitoring of limit utilizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, analysing and validation of market risk metrics in the area of:
  1. liquidity risk management (liquidity gaps under normal and stressed market conditions, rapid liquidity indicators, regulatory ratios like LCR and NSFR),
  2. interest rate risk management (wide-range of IRRBB indicators measuring sensitivities to changes in interest rates and their components) and
  3. FX risk management (variety of representations of the Bank’s open FX positions and Value at Risk stemming from those positions).
  • Assessment of limit proposals and their calibration, monitoring of limits utilizations. Validation of remediation plans in case of limit breaches and monitoring of the remediation actions.
  • Review of documentation and methodology for steering the market risks and ensuring its compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines, and further with internal needs and group-wide norms and conventions (specified by Société Générale - the parent company of Komercni banka and one of the world’s leading investment banks).
  • Contribution to regulatory exercises like definition of the Risk Appetite Statement, Contingency Funding Plan, Internal Capital and Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process, Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process, EBA/CNB stress testing etc.

Qualification:

  • Min. 2 years of experience preferably in a similar position (market risk management of banking book, asset-liability management, treasury) or a position related to trading/portfolio management/other financial markets activities.
  • Master degree in finance, mathematics or technical field.
  • Czech – speaker level, English - advance (min. B2) level. Both will be used on daily basis.
  • Analytical and solving skills to get things done.
  • Good verbal communication skills with the flexibility to communicate and build relationships with cooperating departments (Treasury, ALM, Reporting, Accounting).
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm, self-motivation, stress tolerance and ability to work independently and under time pressure
  • High sense of teamwork.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of core banking and financial market products and their valuation.
  • Awareness of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Market risks management methodologies (calculation of sensitivities, VaR, liquidity modeling, stress testing)
  • Advanced Excel (must-have), VBA and SQL (nice-to-have)
