This position reports to the Value Stream Manager. Key interfaces include Value Stream, Group Managers, Project Management and Human Resources. This position is accountable for providing leadership, vision, motivation, and direction to the assigned team, with focus on process improvement, lead time optimization, discrepancy reduction and new repair implementation. Proactively co-operate with production team with focus on safety and quality.

This role will lead the team of technicians (product and process owners), support current product/process portfolio, launch new repair capabilities, reduce waste in production process and improve repair cost. Provide leadership to build Facility reputation in front of the customers and support customer service facilities.

What will be your task at this position?

  • Team goal development
  • Personnel development, PA's, work schedule, attendance
  • Development, maintenance and oversight of Engineering Metrics
  • Support Engineering and group work agenda planning
  • Support capital planning and enhanced capability project implementation
  • Develop, maintain and improve repair processes
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to production team
  • Support TMO strategy
  • Liaison with TMP/TMO Engineering

What do we expect from a suitable candidate?

  • Bachelor or University Degree in a related technical discipline, plus 5 years product and/or manufacturing experience, or general technical (non-related) degree with 10 years directly related turbomachinery engineering experience.

  • Detailed knowledge of Solar’s various engine products, and familiar with Solar's other turbomachinery accessory products.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through facilitating teams that complete projects within planned timeline
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to improve/update complex processes
  • Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written). Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, as well as leadership, with proficiency in communicating technical information
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to improve quality through identification of root cause and facilitating implementation of corrective action.
  • Great advantage: Lean 6 Sigma black belt or green belt participation on a 6 sigma project
