What will be your task at this position?

  • The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will have multiple, ever-changing responsibilities supporting the PRU District Manager both technically and commercially.
  • This position requires a technical degree or significant knowledge of Solar products and systems, PLC & computer skills (field experience preferred)
  • The Mechanical Design Engineer works with various engineering, fabrication, assembly operations, logistics, and field installation personnel to ensure that project designs are high quality, safe, and cost-effective.
  • Close coordination and good communications with Solar Customers is required as well as with internal Solar groups/facilities such as Product/Systems Engineering, Package Refurbishment and Upgrade, Project Management, Response Center, etc.
  • The incumbent will work as part of a project team, led by PRU District Manager, to execute orders ranging from minor package system upgrades through full refurbishment of entire packages. Facilitation of design reviews with peers and team members is also expected.
  • Must be willing to travel, spend time with customers, work overtime.
  • Package system design - start, fuel, air, lube, seal, enclosure
  • Package system layout and module design.
  • Component/Detail design.
  • Interconnect design. (Pipe, tube, electrical)
  • Enclosure and ancillary design.
  • Frame / lube oil tank design.
  • Hydromechanical component specification.
  • Hydromechanical calculations and tool use/update.
  • Production support.
  • Quality feedback processing.
  • Process improvement assignments.
