The purpose of the program is to start the development and training of the next generation of highly capable and highly competent engineers. This is a 3-year rotational program for recently graduated engineers. The training you receive will be a combination of classroom and on-line training, significant hands-on experience in the role of a field service representative and mentored controls system training at various Solar locations including the Czech Republic, San Diego (CA), Mabank (TX) and Desoto (TX).

What will be your task at this position?

  • Each phase of the program emphasizes a different aspect of field operations, the topics covered include:
  • Safety training
  • Gas turbine package familiarization training
  • Controls system training
  • Customer services experience
  • Engine Overhaul/Repair
  • Power Generation and Gas compression
  • Troubleshooting
  • Structured on the job (Hands on) training at Customer Sites in the Field of the hiring district, this includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Preventative Maintenance and inspection work including Servicing and Borescope Inspections.
  • Major Component replacement (Gas Turbines, Gearboxes, Generators & Gas Compressors).
  • Troubleshooting a variety of issues on Mechanical, Controls, Instrumentation & Electrical Turbomachinery systems.
  • Commissioning of product upgrades and new packages.
  • This program offers an excellent opportunity to combine formal training with hands on experience in the field as Field Service Representative.

What do we expect from a suitable candidate?

  • The successful candidate will have graduated within the previous three years with an engineering related university degree (or equivalent) and have obtained a final grade of a 2:1 or higher (or equivalent).

  • Ability to travel frequently and for prolonged time periods to Solar facilities and customer sites throughout Central and Europe.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work safely and with little supervision in the field environment while maintaining a high degree of responsibility and professionalism.
  • Candidate shall be fluent in English.
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.
  • Good IT skills are essential.
  • Possess a full EU Valid driving license.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and also as an individual.
  • Electrical certificate with regard to Czech legislation is advantage.
